Tennessee’s Supreme Court has approved a proposed rule change governing the filing of motions for subject an amicus brief.
The proposed rule sets for the deadlines for filing a motion file a brief as amicus curiae and requires that the proposed brief by conditionally filed with the motion. As in the past, the “motion for leave shall identify the interest of the applicant and shall state how a brief of an amicus curiae will assist the appellate court.”
